Pop-Up Shakespeare!

Have you caught one of our surprise events?

It all started back in 2021, when live theatre was returning and we were itching to try something new. A one-off night at Tonbridge Old Fire Station turned into To She Or Not To He, a playful celebration of Shakespeare’s iconic women, originally played by men in his day. Audiences loved it, and we thought... why stop there?

In 2022, we popped up again - literally! Teaming up with Sevenoaks Bookshop, our actors sprang into action with surprise performances: sonnets in the aisles, soliloquies by the shelves, and a lot of confused but happy faces. It was such a hit, we’ve been back every April since.

Now our Pop-Up Shakespeare has become a bit of a tradition, popping up at fairs, pubs, and anywhere people least expect a bit of the Bard. From the Sevenoaks Climate Fair to Sunday lunch at The White Rock Inn, we’ve brought spontaneous Shakespeare to all sorts of places.
