Shrewed! is a bold, high-spirited adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew, reimagined against the backdrop of wartime Britain.

At its heart is Kate — sharp-tongued, fiercely independent, and far too modern for the comfort of her neighbours. Performing alongside her sister and formidable mother, Kate is the talk of the village… and not always in a good way.

Then Peter arrives.

An American soldier on leave, charming, confident, and intrigued by rumours of the village’s “hot-tempered shrew,” Peter sees Kate not as a warning — but as a challenge. What follows is a battle of wits packed with fixation, fire, and razor-sharp humour. In a world turned upside down by war, love becomes the most unpredictable campaign of all.

With live music from The Jean Bentley Band, expect toe-tapping swing, swooning ballads, and a soundtrack that transports you straight to a 1940s dance hall.

And the evening doesn’t stop at the curtain call — enjoy hot food, warming drinks, and bustling market stalls that bring the whole village to life. Make a night of it. Dress the part. Step into the story.
